Above, main span of Route 895 James River Bridge. Eastbound span is complete, and only about 10 cast-on-place segments remain to be constructed on the westbound span of the main span. The main spans and side spans are being built by the cast-in-place balanced cantilever method. See my article
Above, main span of Route 895 James River Bridge. Eastbound span is complete, and only about 10 cast-on-place segments remain to be constructed on the westbound span of the main span. The main spans and side spans are being built by the cast-in-place balanced cantilever method. The vantage point is from the I-95 southbound shoulder, looking eastward toward construction of the main span. The high-level bridge ramp at the top of the photo, is Ramp H, which is the ramp from Route 895 westbound to I-95 northbound. Click for large more dense image (331K); hit "BACK" key to return here.
