Chesapeake Expressway Photos - March 2001

Here are 5 photos of the Chesapeake Expressway under construction, taken on March 10, 2001.

Above, I'm standing at the at-grade intersection of Gallbush Road, looking north onto the Chesapeake Expressway. This intersection is about 1/2 mile north of the Northwest River, and is the southernmost limit of the full freeway design.

Above, I'm standing on the Indian Creek Road overpass, looking north onto the Chesapeake Expressway. CLICK the photo to get a 5-26-01 photo of the completed highway from the same vantage point.

Above, I'm standing on the Indian Creek Road overpass, looking north onto the Chesapeake Expressway. Same vantage point as previous photo, but I used a 135mm telephoto lens (2.7x) instead of the 50mm regular lens. The off-ramp sign says "168 BUSINESS - Battlefield Blvd". Above, I'm standing on the Indian Creek Road overpass, looking south onto the Chesapeake Expressway, toward the mainline toll plaza. I used a 135mm telephoto lens (2.7x) lens. The leftmost sign says "FASTOLL ONLY - 45 MPH". CLICK the photo to get a 5-26-01 photo of the completed highway from the same vantage point.

Above, I'm standing on the Peaceful Road overpass, looking north onto the Chesapeake Expressway. The overpass under construction in the distance is relocated Battlefield Boulevard, and just beyond that is the point where the new expressway joins into the Great Bridge Bypass as one seamless expressway.
