Baltimore Central Light Rail Line - Photos 1-6
Here are 6 photos of the Central Light Rail Line, taken on December 26, 1997.
Above, train awaiting departure at Cromwell
Station, which is the Glen Burnie terminal. There is a large free park-and-ride
lot at the station.
Above, road near Ferndale, Md. I'm looking
out the front windshield of the train. Notice the overhead catenary lines. They
supply the electric power to the train.
Above, train is stopped just short of
the Baltimore Harbor bridge. Actually, the bridge crosses the Middle Branch of
the harbor. You can see downtown Baltimore in the background.
Above, my train is still stopped, and
here comes the southbound train that just traversed the one-track harbor bridge.
Above, entering the harbor bridge (Middle
Branch of Baltimore Harbor). The high-level bridge is the ramp from I-395 SB to
I-95 EB. The mid-level bridge is the rest of I-395, which is the Interstate spur
from I-95 to downtown Baltimore.
